Weekly or Bi-Weekly visits from mid-May through July
Population Counts and Stand Evaluation
Early season insect population counts and threshold determination (Corn Rootworm, etc.)
European Corn Borer scouting (includes egg masses and larval infestations)
Weed identification, size, pressure, and herbicide recommendations
Disease monitoring (Grey Leaf Spot, rust, and root diseases)

Insect infestations and economic thresholds determination

The goal of Farmers Win Coop crop scouting program is to help the producer better manage his crop input expenses through scouting by using weed pressure and economic thresholds to his or her advantage. By catching outbreaks of weeds and/or insects early you can save needless expenses and produce a better yielding crop.
